For many, landscaping is merely a summer job: something to do between high school and university to earn some money and enjoy the outdoors. But at TLC Landscaping, we know that landscaping can be a year-round lifestyle that turns into a career.
If you’re a high school student who’s close to graduating, or if you’re an older adult looking for a change of scenery, here’s why you should consider a career in landscaping:
Beyond a Summer Job
Landscaping can go beyond a summer job and, with the right company, you can easily work regular hours year-round. Some of our employees own their own homes, some have two cars and most take regular, yearly vacations. A career in landscaping can offer you a comfortable lifestyle while allowing you to do a job that you love.
Landscaping Is Physical – But You Don’t Need Brute Strength
Working in landscaping means getting regular physical exercise, but many people think that you need to be incredibly strong and use brute force to do this job.
In truth, landscaping is much more accessible as a career and is a great choice for people of all ages and genders. If you are approachable, enjoy customer service and like working with a variety of people, landscaping can be a rich and rewarding career.
We Provide Industry-Leading Training
At TLC Landscaping, we don’t ask you to do anything that you haven’t been properly trained to do. All of our team members receive industry-leading training so that they’re prepared to do the work that’s required of them.
When you join our team, you’ll receive both web-based and on-the-job training that will prepare you for a career in landscaping, including online equipment certifications through our sister company Greenius.
We Offer Benefits & Support
While some landscaping companies offer seasonal work with irregular hours, all of TLC Landscaping’s employees are full-time and we guarantee year-round income for them. We also provide all of our employees with full healthcare benefits for employees and their families, RRSP contributions, and educational incentives.
Don’t have your driver’s license? We’ll support you through the process. Want to explore other education, like a certification in Landscape Design? We’re willing to invest in you and your development.
Whatever your age or level of education, it’s our pleasure to help you with your personal development. We’ll even provide incentives for certain qualifications, such as finishing up your high school diploma!
There’s Room to Grow
Working in the landscaping industry offers a number of possibilities for career advancement. At TLC Landscaping, we offer our employees many opportunities to grow within the industry, either by gaining additional education or moving up in the company.
Many of our employees who start off in entry-level positions go on to become crew leaders and landscape designers, finish additional education and gain certifications. You can begin your career with us cutting grass and eventually move into management — the choice is yours!
At TLC Landscaping, we’re always looking for the right people to join our growing team! If you’re interested in working with TLC Landscaping and can’t wait to start your career in landscaping, we’d love to hear from you.
