Job Description

A TLC Sales/Landscape Designer is tasked with creating outdoor living spaces for residential clients. This role is heavily sales-based and includes concept/design to budget/timelines to production. Additionally, the Landscape Designer will act as a liaison between TLC and their clients. Strong communication and administrative skills are required to ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Landscape Sales/Designer with TLC, you will remain actively involved in the entire sales/design process to ensure customer satisfaction, from initial contact through design installation. You will predominantly be working with the clients from the first meeting up until the end of each client’s project. Other main responsibilities include:

  • Quote & Design: Prepare residential landscape projects for client approval. Confirm measurements, create plant lists, determine required materials for projects. Follow client budgets and provide accurate timelines. Logistics (ordering, locates, etc) are also required.  
  • Client Liaison: Meeting with clients to discuss job requirements such as ideas and visions, site analysis, and measurements. Lead initial presentation meetings and ongoing progress meetings.
  • Communication: Ongoing communication with the Production Manager to ensure crews execute projects properly and flag corrections, if needed. Complete projects on budget and on time.
  • Administration: Responsible for all office communication with clients and teams. Obtain locates and permits as necessary. Ensure data integrity in provided software systems.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • G-Class Driver’s Licence
  • College or University Degree (Design/Landscaping; General Business)
  • Advanced horticulture knowledge is required
  • 7+ years experience in sales design and/or construction
  • Able to sell your own design and hand off to production
  • Proven computer skills
  • Solution finder and strong attention to detail
  • Strong client relations skills
  • Driven team player
  • Effective communication skills with clients, project managers, and team members

Additional requirements for the Landscape Sales/Design Representative include:

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and like dealing with customers
  • Enjoys an atmosphere that is driven by goal setting.
  • Must be able to work well individually and in a team setting.
